Volunteer of the week this time around is Claire McCormack, our First Aid Coordinator. As well as volunteering her time regularly as a Trainer herself, Claire monitors the stocks of first aid supplies, organises training for all our Trainers, and checks that there is ice available in the freezer in case of injuries. She also provides extra information for Trainers about common football injuries. Thanks Claire!
A discussion paper about this issue was circulated to all members last week, with a link to the short survey sent on Friday 15 June and follow up information sent since. The survey will close on Saturday 23 June so please take the time to consider all the information and respond by then. The NJFC Committee will make a decision at our meeting on 25 June about whether to proceed after considering the survey results.
A few more clarifications about the discussion paper and survey in response to feedback: Sunday travel times The re-calculation of the travel times for Sunday travel (fastest route calculated from 55 Clifton St Northcote from 12.15pm - 1pm Sunday 17 June) has increased the estimates for travel to some clubs, with an increase in average travel time of 0.9 minutes for NFNL clubs and 3.6 minutes for YJFL clubs. This will likely vary for the time of day, with early games probably not as greatly affected. The re-calculated tables are below: NFNL Club Home Ground Suburb 2018 Junior teams (n) Dist. (km) Time (min) - off peak Time (min) - Sunday 12-1pm Bundoora Park Bundoora Park Oval Bundoora 8.5 11 20 14 Darebin Falcons A.H. Capp Reserve Preston 5 5…

After three years we hope to have other funding in place, like sponsorship. You can donate and find out more by clicking here. If you are not aware of Free…

The Australian Government set up the ASF to help raise funds through public and corporate donations for the development of sport in Australia. It has Deductible Gift Recipient Status so any donation you make to us via the ASF is tax deductible. As you probably know we have a strong community focus at our club trying to get as many kids playing footy as possible. Our tax deductible fundraising schemes will enable us to do more by: Improving the facilities we share with Dennis Cricket Club and the local…

A big, big thank you to our volunteer of the week Sheri Burmeister, who has taken on the Property Manager role. She will now be in charge of ordering merchandise and replacement gear. Sheri has served as Team Manager for the two years prior to this year and has always been keen to help out where possible. We are really grateful to her for offering to help out yet again!
Two of our Committee Members have resigned to focus on other commitments. With only a few months left in the term of this Committee, now is a great chance for anyone potentially interested in having a say in the running of the club to dip their toes in the water, as well as help reduce the load on 2018 Committee Members with still a lot to be done before the end of the Committee term. Our AGM will be on Wednesday 12 September where the 2019 Committee will be elected. It would be great to have greater representation from parents of younger teams and our girls teams. If you’re interested please let Ann-Maree know.
