Entry to finals costs $7 for adults and $4 concession; children under 16 are free.
The Northern Football League has asked the NJFC to publish the following explanation of finals entry costs.
The Northern Football League is primarily run on funds derived from clubs and the staging of Junior Finals costs a significant amount of money. These costs include items such as:
- full umpire panels (field, boundary, goal)
- 1500 medallions for the winners and runners-up
- 26 premiership cups and premiership flags
- 200 footballs
- printing and publications
- other expenses including staff, equipment hire and ground hire
The NFL has chosen (for a number of years now) to charge entry to finals to cover these costs, rather than recoup through higher affiliation fees. The NFL’s affiliation fees are the lowest in metropolitan Melbourne and we are committed to keeping participation expenses the lowest they can be.
Other competitions that chose not to charge for finals cover these costs through higher club charges. The NFL will continue to apply a responsible fee structure to all aspects of our operations to ensure maximum participation levels are achieved.
