Message – NJFC President

General News
What a joy it was to be at the club on Sunday morning.  After months of preparation we had football teams on the oval playing football, coaches on the side line giving directions, parents on the hill offering support and smiles all around.  The club administration has been getting me down a bit lately, but to see that kids smiles as they came from the ground and to hear the club song was a joy.  Welcome back everyone and good luck next week when the real games begin. Play with cougars spirit and have fun.   Player Numbers I am really proud that we have managed great numbers across the board.  As a committee we have focused strongly this year on getting balanced team numbers across out senior teams and…

Northcote Park Cougars – Seniors to rebound in 2019

General News
Northcote Park is making significant moves to ensure it bounces back quickly from an underwhelming 2018 campaign. After a Meadows Greyhounds Division 1 season heavily affected by injuries and unavailability to key players, particularly during the second part of the year, the Cougars have set themselves for a return to finals action in 2019. Among the key signings in the off-season is former Sydney Swans-listed ruckman Kyle Galloway. The 21-year-old is a former Vic Metro representative and has also spent time with VFL outfit Werribee TAC Cup side Murray Bushrangers. Northcote Park general manager Dennis McNiece said Galloway would help address the Cougars issues in the ruck. To read more on this story click the link

Response to Q’s – Discussion Paper on Moving Leagues

General News
A few more clarifications about the discussion paper and survey in response to feedback: Sunday travel times The re-calculation of the travel times for Sunday travel (fastest route calculated from 55 Clifton St Northcote from 12.15pm - 1pm Sunday 17 June) has increased the estimates for travel to some clubs, with an increase in average travel time of 0.9 minutes for NFNL clubs and 3.6 minutes for YJFL clubs. This will likely vary for the time of day, with early games probably not as greatly affected. The re-calculated tables are below: NFNL Club Home Ground Suburb 2018 Junior teams (n) Dist.
