Our volunteer of the week is Bernadette Curry, our Awards and Photos Manager. As well as organising all the milestone awards that players receive for achieving 50 or 100 games, Bernadette also organises and coordinates the team photos. You may have seen her in action last week organising kids, coaches, team managers to get their envelopes completed and attired in the right gear for their photos. Thanks for the great job Bernadette and for keeping everything on schedule.

Check your email later this week for the discussion paper we have put together to allow members to determine whether they feel it is worth NJFC applying to change from the Northern Football Netball League to the Yarra Junior Football League. We are asking all members to consider this issue carefully and complete the online survey via the link that will also be sent out. The NJFC Committee will then make a decision on this issue in the best interests of the club considering the results of the survey.

It will be presented by Dr David Bolzenello from Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic on Wednesday June 13 at Szental Lecture Theatre, La Trobe University from 6:30pm -8:00pm. Access your team fixture by going to http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=0-3913-0-0-0&a=COMPS and clicking on ‘fixture’ for your competition. If you click on the relevant team name (e.g. Northcote, Northcote Blue, etc.) you will get to the Sports TG page for your team. Click on ‘fixtures’, under ‘team links’ to access the season fixture. All Northern Football Netball League competitions will this weekend support the Pat Cronin Foundation, as part of the Pat Cronin Foundation Round. This round is dedicated to honoring the life of Pat Cronin and it aims to raise awareness of the Coward Punch. Pat played for 12 years in the NFNL playing for both Research Junior Football Club and Lower Plenty Football Club. Our volunteer of the week is Ally Minatsis. Ally has been responsible for the upgrade of our website, which is almost complete, and is now much more easily viewed on a variety of mobile platforms. Please note due to restraints in ground availability, competition sizes, who teams are playing etc I have worked on a min of 5 home games for all teams (with exception to two clubs who I have spoken to). Only Coaches can coach, not Boundary Umpires, Water Carriers, Trainers, Goal Umpires or any other officials that may be on the ground. Runners are only allowed to deliver a maximum of two messages directly from the Coach then must get off the ground. All these officials MUST NOT engage with players (Cougars or opposition) in any other capacity than specified by their role, or the Umpire at all.
